Huma is a type of whitish oily clay, widely used as a cosmetic and hygienic means.

Huma is part of many ready-made cosmetic masks for skin and hair, but it is also sold separately (in fine powder) for preparation at home. It is usually mixed with water, yogurt, yolk, honey, lard or lemon juice. Masks with Huma are especially recommended for oily or withered skin, and hair prone to oiliness give shine and volume. Huma is a tried and tested remedy for soothed skin in babies. It is also used for the preparation of hair masks-mixed with olive oil.

Huma is one of the best internal remedies used since ancient times. It absorbs internal poisons, pathogenic microbes and is established as a wonderful remedy for edema, tendovaginitis, varicose veins, colitis, sinusitis, sprained, burned, discopathy, insect bites, pain in the head, back, inflammations, even tumors. In the stomach and intestines, it absorbs poisons released by microbes and makes them completely harmless. This property of Huma has also been proven by laboratory experiments. It is also widely used in cosmetics.

Huma is applied externally as compresses, poultices and ointments and internally as a solution for drinking, gargling and rinsing.

Prepared for treatment Huma should be dry in the sun. Grind in a wooden mortar or on a wooden mat with a wooden mallet. Nothing metal should touch it! The crushed Huma is placed in a porcelain, clay or wooden vessel and poured with boiled water. Keep in the sun for a few days, then stir with a wooden spoon. If the resulting porridge is very thick, dilute with boiled water.

Brown clay is the softest of all clays. It softens the skin and makes the hair soft and elastic. It is rich in mineral salts, Silicon, zinc and magnesium. Brown clay has irreplaceable regenerating and hydrating properties.
